I received my BA in History, Arabic, and Middle Eastern Studies from Tufts University in 2010. From 2010-2013, I lived in Cairo, Egypt where I worked for St. Andrew’s Refugee Services and was a fellow with the Center for Arabic Study Abroad. I also photographed and wrote about graffiti and street art during the Egyptian Revolution.
In 2019, I received my PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, where I was subsequently a lecturer in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, and also taught in the Department of Radio, Television, and Film.
I am currently a visiting scholar at Tufts University and Affiliated Faculty at Emerson College.
