I received my BA in History, Arabic, and Middle Eastern Studies from Tufts University in 2010. From 2010–2013, I lived in Cairo, where I worked for St. Andrew’s Refugee Services, was a fellow with the Center for Arabic Study Abroad, and photographed and wrote about graffiti and street art during the Egyptian Revolution.

In 2019, I completed my PhD in Middle Eastern and Media Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where I also lectured in the Departments of Middle Eastern Studies and Radio-Television-Film. From 2021–2022, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Tufts University’s Center for the Humanities (CHAT) and later taught in the Department of International Letters and Cultural Studies.

I am currently Affiliated Faculty in the School of Film, Television, & Media Arts at Emerson College.
